In this delightful single-player platformer, you'll guide a courageous ink drop through a world waiting to be painted, one brushstroke at a time. But beware: You can't see what lies ahead until you explore it! Traverse through uncharted territory as you paint your path, revealing hidden dangers and delightful surprises.

Armed with your trusty paintbrush, unleash ink drops to illuminate your surroundings and fend off enemies, who are all eager to thwart your artistic endeavors.

Gameplay

In Inkventure, exploration is key. Every step you take and every brushstroke you make uncovers more of the world around you. Armed with your trusty paintbrush, you'll unleash ink drops to fend off enemies and illuminate your surroundings. Watch out for the mischievous bookworm, pesky flies, lurking inkcap mushrooms, and quirky bugs, all eager to thwart your artistic endeavors.

Features

• Unique Exploration Mechanic: Navigate through a world where the environment reveals itself as you paint it. Your ink drop's journey is as much about discovery as it is about survival. In addition to exploration, you must combat ink monsters using brushstrokes and ink bullets, replenishing your ink supply with each defeated enemy. It's a blend of artistic creation and combat, where every stroke has to be set strategically to manage a stable ink-supply.  
• Handdrawn Art Style:  Inkventures unique, hand-drawn art style reminds of illustrations on a sheet of paper. Characters, objects, and backgrounds are all lovingly crafted in an inky-watercolour style, giving the game a personal and inviting feel.
• Creative Combat: Use your paintbrush to fend off enemies and overcome obstacles. Each enemy encounter is a chance to get creative with your ink attacks.
• Engaging Visuals: Enjoy a beautifully crafted world inspired by ink and art, where every brushstroke adds to the visual storytelling.

Playtime

Inkventure Version 1.1.: approximately 15 minutes, it is one demo-level

Additional Infos

This game was originally created as a student game project realised within the wintersemester 2023/2024 at the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria Campus Hagenberg. 

Inkventure is published on itch.io and will be exhibited at the Game Access Conference 2024 in Brno (Czech Republic).
